aftercare
The use of Sensory information (taste, touch, sound, sight & smell) can help integrate after therapeutic breathwork, broaden your intuition, and stay awake/connected to the benefits of your experience.
Your Breathwork session is over, now what?
Here are some suggestions to support you after our time together.
AFTERCARE = Time to self-nurture.
Nutrition: Please have something to eat. Maybe you’re really hungry? Since you didn’t eat beforehand. Eat a snack, something hearty or “your” Soul food - This is super helpful for grounding.
Hydrate: Water yourself friend, to flush & give to your body.
It’s a good idea not to drink caffeine or alcohol directly after a session. Especially if you are new to this work.
Ground: connect and balance your state (physical, emotional, mental and/or energetic)
Nature - feeling the earth/ground under your bare feet can feel wonderful!
Touch/See/Smell - grass/trees, maybe sit its houseplants… whatever is accessible.
Water - Wash your hands, take a bath, swim or dip your toes
Animals/pets - (if you have access) love them up! Animals tend to offer unlimited affection and companionship, lift spirits and lower stress.
Listen: - to nature, your environment, or music if it soothes you. listen in.. if you feel like quiet time, take it (if you can) or maybe it's something else - Do something light-hearted!
Rest: Can take the experience further, deeper.
Give yourself ample time to sleep (or nap), to restore and rejuvenate. DREAMland, I like to have a notepad to jot down or draw on from any dreams if inspired. Keeping an open mind/heart.
Share: It can be lovely to talk with someone you trust, to talk about your experience or maybe you feel inspired to tell them something.
The above use of Sensory information (taste, touch, sound, sight & smell) can help integrate after therapeutic breathwork, broaden your intuition, and stay awake/connected to the benefits of your experience.
